Starting from Planina Jezerca, the trail first leads towards Kriška planina before continuing across alpine pastures and scenic mountain terrain towards Planina Koren, a traditional shepherd pasture surrounded by beautiful mountain views. From there, we continue along open ridges towards the summits of Kompotela and Vrh Korena, both offering incredible panoramic views across the Kamnik-Savinja Alps and the surrounding peaks.
After reaching both summits, we return along the same trail back towards Planina Jezerca. Throughout the hike, there is plenty of time for breaks, photos and enjoying the peaceful alpine scenery at a relaxed pace. With around 600 meters of elevation gain, the hike is moderately easy and suitable for anyone with a good basic fitness level looking to experience the beauty of the Slovenian Alps.
